Welcome to the 409th Manchester (William Temple) Scout Group Web Site.
The 409th Manchester (William Temple) Scout Group caters for girls and boys aged 6 to 18 in South Manchester. We are based in Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe but also have members from outside our area.
As part of the Scout Association, we have a clear purpose:
To help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of their local, national and international communities.
Our method for giving young people the opportunity to learn by doing is called the balanced programme. Throughout their time in our Group young people will learn by taking part in a variety of new activities and experiences, exploring the outdoors, participating in teams, playing games, and taking responsibility.
Can you help?
The number of young people at the group is increasing - that's the good news. However, to support these numbers we need more adults; both leaders and various other roles. If you want to help the youth of the area, and can spare us some time please come and have a chat with us, or give us a call.
