As a group based in Wythenshawe, finding money to continue to run scouting is a challenge.
We are very fortunate in that the Parish Church of William Temple, who is our sponsor, charge very little in rent; however we do still need to pay for heating, lighting and insurance before we can start to spend money on equipment and activities for the young people.
Each week the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts pay subs of £2. This amount is well below the average paid by scouts nationally and we keep this figure low to ensure that it is not a barrier that stops the young people coming each week - however it is not enough to allow us to continue to run.
This means that we need to raise money in other ways too. Often this is done on an ad-hoc basis (such as when we go Bag-packing) but over on the right of this page are some links to the more constant ways that we try to raise money.
Please support these as much as you can.
